Based on a true story -- In the summer of 1984, under the Margaret Thatcher government, the National Union of Mineworkers goes on strike. During the Gay Pride March in London, a group of gay and lesbian activists decide to raise money to support the families of the striking miners. However, the Union seems embarrassed to receive their support. The activists instead decide to take their donations directly to a small mining village in Wales — resulting in an unlikely alliance between the two communities.
